Lush Boxing Day Sale Haul

I'd originally planned on spending boxing day in my comfy clothes lounging round the house with the occasional browse of the online sales and a few orders placed, but somehow I ended up heading into town to battle the Boxing day shoppers and grab myself some bargains. I didn't go in till about 2 in the afternoon so I expected everything to be gone but surprisingly town was pretty empty and shelves were still pretty stocked.

What I Got For Christmas 2015: Beauty Edition

I can't believe Christmas has been and gone for another year, it doesn't seem like that long ago the decorations were going up and the Christmas shopping stress began! Although it's gone by crazily fast, this Christmas has been really lovely, it's been great spending time with my family and of course eating my body weight in food (the usual!). For those of you that celebrate Christmas, I hope you had an incredible time too!

Drugstore Gems | My Favourite Drugstore Products

Walking into a Boots or Superdrug can be fairly overwhelming, with such a variety of products on offer at a much more affordable price compared to highend brands can mean you often leave with a products or 3 (3 for 2 always seems to get me!). With so many products on offer means that there's going to be hits and misses, and over the years of trying various drugstore products I thought I'd share my favourites with you all...

My Blogging Goals For 2016

2016 is almost here and in my head it still feels like 2010. When they say "the older you get, the faster time passes" be warned, they really do mean it! Part of me still feels like the pink eyeshadow loving orange faced year 7 running late to my next science lesson, when in reality I'm an almost 20 year old adult who still hasn't go her life together. Sigh. With the new year fast approaching I thought I'd share my 2016 blogging goals with you all...

MAC x Ellie Goulding I'll Hold My Breathe Blush Duo Review + Swatches

MAC x Ellie Goulding I'll Hold My Breathe Blush Duo

MAC always seem to draw me in with the limited edition collections and this Ellie Goulding collab was no exception. When I first saw previews of this collection I loved how wearable everything was, as much as I love me some bright colours, it's nice to see a collection of really wearable shades for everyday wear.

When I got the email saying the collection had been released, I was on the bus so it was rather hectic trying to get onto the site to order this without losing internet! As much as I wanted to order pretty much everything, I had to have some self control so I just ordered the one thing *gasp*. I thought the collection would sell out fast, but as this posts goes up everything's still available which is a surprise considering it's been out for a few days now!

Touche Eclat Dupe? L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer vs YSL Touch Eclat

I've spoken about my love for the YSL Touche Eclat many times on my blog, but being YSL means it comes with the highend purse damaging £25 price tag. I've repurchased it so many times over the past 5/6 years, and as much as I love it I just think of all that money I've spent on it! It was time I found a dupe.

On the quest to find an alternative to my beloved Touche Eclat, I came across the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer, being from the drugstore means it's much more purse friendly so I thought it was worth a try. L'oreal are a huge company, and they actually own YSL so I was interested to see how the two compare.

5 Minute Face - Makeup In a Hurry

It's gone 7am, you've snoozed all your alarms and now you realise you're going to be late. No it's not a nightmare, you're just willing to wear less makeup for those vital extra minutes in bed. Once reality sets in and you realise you really do need to get up, if you're like me then makeup is a must before leaving the house so it's important to fit it into the mental schedule you've made for the following 20 10 minutes.

Now this look doubles up as my "oh god I'm really in a hurry" look, as well as my "lazy day mooching round the house but I've got to look somewhat presentable as I'll probably have deliveries arrive" look. Of course if I really didn't have any time then I'd cut it down to just concealer and a bit of mascara, but I've mastered the art of speedy makeup and can complete this whole look in around 5 minutes - I just really do love to sleep.

My Top 5 MAC Lipsticks + MAC Lipstick Giveaway

You just can't go wrong with a MAC lipstick, they've earned themselves a place in many womens makeup bags and makeup lovers collection, and they really do deserve all the hype they get! I currently own a rather obsessive 24, and I love all of them dearly. The quality really is impressive and the simple black packaging just looks so elegant - don't even get my started on limited edition packing, that's my weakness!

I think lipsticks really are the standout product from MAC, not only do they come in every shade imaginable, they also offer different finishes so you're bound to find one you like. Being on the more pricey side, it's not easy just to drop £15.50 on a lipstick (at least not for me anyway) so I find these types of post really helpful, and I usually end up adding a shade or two to my wishllist!

A Little L'Oreal Haul + Feline Fatale Gift With Purchase Set

Nipping into Boots can be deadly for me, especially when they have offers on. They've got a few brands offering free gifts when you spend a certain amount at the moment so obviously I had to make the most of that offer! I chose to go for L'Oreal one because I had a couple of products I wanted from the brand, and their gift was the one that caught my eye (and purse) the most. You had to spend £14.99 on L'Oreal to get the free gift which was easy for me being the makeup lover I am.

My Barry M Nail Polish Collection + Swatches

Nail polish is hands down one of my favourite beauty products, you'll rarely catch me without my nails painted some kind of colour. Before I got into makeup, I was into nail art and that's where my love for beauty began. I always had my nails decorated with patterns, designs and usually covered in a whole lot of gems. I also loved doing it for friends and family and then I went on to do a nail course at college. I got to learn even more tips and techniques from nail art to gel and acrylic extensions - I loved it!

I've wanted to try some Makeup Geek shadows for what feels like forever now. Every time I saw someone using them in tutorials I just wanted them to bless my eyelids, but with them being an American brand and me being in the UK means annoying custom and import fees- a makeup lovers nightmare! When I saw that UK based BeautyBay started stocking them and then put them on offer on black friday, it was basically fate so I finally caved in and ordered some.

My Opinion On Balance Me Skincare

Balance Me was a brand that I'd heard about but never tried until this little skincare set arrived through my door. When I preordered my Look Fantastic Beauty Secrets Advent Calendar, they had an offer on where you got this Balance Me sample set for free when you spent a certain amount... bonus!

Now I'm usually rather sceptical when it comes to trying new skincare products, I tend to stick to the ones I know and love as I hate trying new products and reacting to them. The thing I really like about this brand is that their products are mostly natural, which is something that really draws me into products. The brand was founded by two British sisters (go girl power!) back in 2005. They've really challenged what natural beauty stands for and created products that wouldn't have been possible a few years ago. They've since earned themselves a lot of praise in the media and by various celebs. I was actually really excited to give these products a try, and I wanted to share my opinion on them with you.

My Top 5 Autumn Lipsticks

Autumn is my favourite time of the year - if I haven't made that obvious enough already! As much as I love my bright pinks and corals during the summer, I love bringing out the more Autumnal berries, reds and purples as the cooler weather approaches. I know a lot of people love to rock the dark vampy lipsticks this time of year, but they just really don't suit me - I seriously envy those people that look incredible in them because I can't seem to pull dark colours off... no matter how many I try! Today I thought I'd share my top 5 Autumn lipsticks with you all to show you the colours I'll practically be living in over the next few months.

Battle of the Eye Primers | Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat & Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
Eye primers are a must have for me. Without them I find my shadow lasts half the time it would have if I'd used one. Not only do they help to make eye shadow last longer by creating a smooth canvas, they also help cover veins and discolouration, intensify colours and prevent creasing. With so many available on the market from gels, creams, liquids... it really can seem like a bit of a daunting task finding the best one for you. My Everyday Autumn Makeup Look

Autumn is finally here, out come the scarves, ankle boots, excessive amounts of hot chocolate and vampy lipsticks. I love everything about Autumn (apart from the lack of natural lighting, dry skin and colds... ok we'll ignore those!). As the bright pink lipsticks and pastel nail polishes slowly start to disappear, in come the beautiful berries, burgundies, purples and reds. This makes me so happy! Brows really are the in thing now. If you follow many beauty gurus on social media, I'm sure you've been hit with serious brow envy numerous times on the casual scroll through Instagram, and ended up just staring at the screen like "why can't I have her eyebrows?". Worth The Price? By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock

So remember when I said that I'm daily blogging throughout September? Well on day 7 and 8 I failed. I didn't get a post up yesterday or the day before because I ended up in hospital after dislocating my hip and trapping a nerve. It wasn't the best experience, but the thing that annoyed me the most was the fact I missed my daily blog posts! But I'm back!

Today I'm talking about the beautiful By Terry Ombre Blackstar which I've mentioned in a couple of my posts now. I thought it was about time I got round to sharing my thoughts on it, and answering the question that put me off buying it for so long - is it really worth the price?

Goodbye August, Hello September

It doesn't feel like that long since I was gathering products to photograph for my July favourites, and now we're here in September! I'm so glad Summers coming to an end, I just don't get on with the heat. I love being in the sun when I'm on holiday and have nothing to do other than sit around a pool drinking cocktails, but when I'm at home and have things to get done, the heat just annoys me.

Autumn is my favourite - I love everything about Autumn, the clothes, makeup, cooler weather, hot chocolates, crisp mornings... I've even started adding some new bits to my Autumn wardrobe! September is also the time I start getting excited for Christmas, it won't be long till I'll have to start Christmas shopping! Gosh.

MAC & Space NK Haul

If you follow me on social media, you'd probably have seen that yesterday I went into London for a hospital appointment, and ended up having a rather disastrous day! On the way home I started feeling really ill, and then passed out. I have autonomic dysfunction so passing out is regular for me, but on a train when I need to get off - not ideal! My mum, brother and sister were with me and looked after me but I just kept passing in an out of consciousness the whole 50 minute train journey home. We ended up missing our stop because I was unconscious and although mum had warned the ticket guy, we ended up about an hour away from our house. It was a stressful time for my poor family, but once I had come around they got me off the train and my dad came to pick us up. Let's just say it was so good to finally be home, even if it was hours after we should have been!

Before all that happened I did do a little bit of shopping. I wasn't going to do a haul, but after sharing a picture of it all on Instagram and getting a good response, I thought why the hell not blog about it!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture #7 Le Fuchsia

I came across these photos in a draft post, which I'd totally forgot to write up and publish- typical Samm! I thought I'd get this post up now as this lipstick deserves it's own post. As this post goes live, I (should be) on a train into London. I've got an appointment with the neurologists to talk about the results of tests and if I can get started on medication. It's the day I've been dreading, because I'm either going to be over the moon or burst into tears. URGH the nerves! Anyway onto a more happy subject... lipstick!!

YSL easily win the award of being my favourite luxury brand, and I have a severe weakness to their beautiful lipsticks. I don't know if it's that beautiful gold packaging, the amazing colour selection- or just the fact I obsess over pretty much every lipstick. Understandably with the hefty price tag these come with, it's not exactly an often treat, or at least not for me! My sister kindly gifted me this for my birthday back in February.

L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation Review

It's been a while since I've tried and fallen in love with a drugstore foundation. I sort of gave up trying them and ended up sticking with the high end ones I know and get on with, like the Estee Lauder Double Wear or YSL Touche Eclat Foundation. As much as I liked them both, they're not exactly the most purse friendly - every time I had to repurchase them I felt like I was handing over my life savings!

When I saw the L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation something really drew me in... the price, the packaging, the fact it contains 35ml, the fact it's matte, all the boxes were ticked so I caved in and bought it - typical Samm! I've been using this foundation for just over a month so I feel it's time to review it.
