Anastasia Beverly Hills Black Friday Eyeshadow Haul + Swatches

This post has been one that I've been so excited to share with you guys since the day I placed this order. You all by now probably understand my love for makeup so when I saw Anastasia Bevely Hills had 60% off single shadows on Black Friday I flew over to my laptop and placed my order as fast as I possibly could. A lot of the shades I wanted had sold out but I still managed to get my hands on all these. I added all the shades I'd actually wear into my basket and checked out so here we are now showing the damage I managed to do to my poor bank balance.

My Top 7 Tips For Avoiding A Cakey Base

Makeup is a wonderful thing, it gives us the ability to enhance our features and play around with different colours and products to create a look that works for us. The one thing that plays a big part in the overall makeup look is your base, a good base is going to create the perfect canvas but it can easily go wrong leaving you with serious cake face. We've all had that dreaded situation where you've done your makeup and then step outside and see it in natural light and gasp with shock - I can't be the only one right? Well over the years I've found ways that work for me to prevent that cakey looking base and today I thought I'd share some of them with you.

Products I'm Currently Loving #5

Somehow we're already 5 days into December, Christmas is coming round faster than I'm ready for and it's reminding me I still have Christmas presents to buy! I'm one of those people that leave everything to the last minute so I expect I won't start wrapping till the 24th, maybe one day I'll eventually become a more organised person. As for todays post, I'm talking about my current favourites and I can't believe I haven't shared one since September!

My Favourite Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

Makeup Geek shadows won over the hearts of many beauty lovers when they first came onto the scene back in 2011, myself included. The thing I really like about MUG is that their shadows are affordable, high quality and come in a variety of colours, but do be warned they are incredibly addictive and you'll be left wanting to fill your palette asap. Coming in single pans means that customising your own palette has never been easier, no depotting, no shadows that sit unused because you only bought a certain palette for a few of the shades.

Recent Beauty Purchases | MAC, Nars & NYX Haul

Sometimes you've just got to treat yo'self, and whilst some people might treat themselves to a new lipstick I seem to take it to the next level and here we are now, god knows how much poorer but hey new makeup makes it all worth it. Although I should really be Christmas shopping (for others, not myself!), I've been having the migraines from hell the past couple of weeks which lead to me justifying a 'little' online treat, but the most annoying thing has been that I've been too ill to even wear makeup and having all this makeup sat untouched is KILLING ME.

Makeup Look | ABH Pink Champagne

It's official, the pink hair is back and I couldn't be happier! After being platinum for a good few months I decided it was finally time to add some colour back into my hair and pink was the obvious choice! To go with my new hair I wanted to put together a look using one of my all time favourite shadows, Anastasia Beverly Hills Pink Champagne. It's such a 'me' colour and I find it adds instant glam to a look. Paired with my current favourite lip combo, I find this look so easy to wear keeping the eyes fairly simple whilst adding that pop of glowy goodness.

So Things Are Going Change Around Here

Blogging has been a massive part of my life for the past 4 and a half years now. It's crazy how something that started with 16 year old me rambling on about lipsticks and my latest beauty purchases turned into something that has given me so many opportunities as well bringing so many lovely people into my life at the time I felt like I had nobody. I'm so surprised I've stuck to it for so many years, my blogs seen me go from the 16 year old punk rock wannabe to an almost 21 year old glitter loving makeup artist and everything in between. Whilst looking back at old posts is mega cringe it also shows me how much I've changed as a person and it makes me proud to see that journey.

MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette

Burgundy eyeshadows are my thing, the amount of mornings I have to stop myself from creating a warm toned burgundy eye and actually use different colours is unreal, my Instagram would literally be full of the same look over and over! Being such a burgundy lover means my warm toned eyeshadow collection is becoming obsessive, but now that Autumn's here it gives me even more reason to wear them and there's one palette I find myself reaching for the most, the MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette.

My Honest Experience With Lip Fillers

Lip fillers are fairly controversial when it comes to the beauty world. Ever since the whole big lip trend came around it's become a lot more known to the world which has lead to a lot of mixed views. I personally have always believed that if a person wants to alter something on their body and it doesn't harm them then go for it, understandably everybody has a different opinion but that's always been my way of seeing it. A few months ago I took the plunge and got lip fillers myself and today I thought I'd share my honest opinion on my experience for anyone considering it, or just for anybody that wants to know more about it.

Recent High End Beauty Purchases

Makeup is my weakness, there's just something so addictive about picking up new products and lets be real 99% of my spare money goes on makeup but lipstick or food? Lipstick always wins. Since booking New York back in July I was on a bit of a spending ban whilst I payed for that but now the bans over it was time for some serious hauling, the spending ban almost killed me so it was time to treat myself! Typical me didn't just stop with the one item so today I thought I'd share everything I've picked up, I love a good haul post!

Products I'm Currently Loving #4

Can we take a second to let the fact we're already almost done with September sink in, time really is flying by this year! This means there's only a few days till I start my Open University degree and I'm so nervous/excited as it's been a while since I've been in education so I've got to get used to that again... eeep! Being that we're in September also means Autumns officially here and I couldn't be happier! Autumn is my absolute favourite time of the year, I love everything about it. Pass me a hot chocolate, my fluffy socks and a plaid scarf and I'm a happy girl, can it just be Autumn all year?

The Baking Must-Have | RCMA No Color Powder

Baking is all the rage these days, and no I don't mean spending hours in the kitchen trying your best to be the next Mary Berry, I mean baking your face. If you follow the beauty community then you're probably so over baking by now but for those who don't, baking is simply taking a loose powder and heavily applying it to areas you'd like to set such as under the eyes, chin and forehead and then leaving the product to warm into the skin for about 5-10 minutes until you dust it off, leaving a crease free flawless finish.

The Repurchases

Buying makeup is great, I love the excitement that comes with trying new products but there's some staples in my stash that have earned themselves serious holy grail status meaning running out of them is something I'm not willing to accept, and I rush out to repurchase them like my life depends on it. On a recent session of late night shopping I found myself on Feel Unique topping up on some recent empties so I thought hey, why not blog about them! It's about time I dedicate a post to these gems.

5 Binge Worthy TV Shows Worth The Watch

There's nothing better than getting home, putting your pyjamas on and camping on the sofa for a Netflix session - that's pretty much how my days end, I know it's a wild life I live. I love finding new shows to watch, and I admit that I get way too hocked on TV shows leaving me feeling as if I'm actually in the show, trying to close my laptop at night and actually sleep is becoming a real struggle... "just one more episode, oh look it's 2am... oops". Today I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you, warning: you may become hooked.

Learning To Love Liquid Lipsticks

Liquid lipsticks have become all the rage these days, having such a long wearing formula whilst packing a seriously pigmented punch makes them a staple in a lot of peoples makeup routines. With such a hype surrounding them I obviously had to get on board with it and I've fast become a liquid lipstick addict, ooops. As great as they are, they're not the easiest product to wear as they're super matte so today I thought I'd share a few of the tips I've found help make liquid lipsticks that little bit easier to wear.

Seventeen Mega Matte Lipsticks

Did I need more lipsticks? No. Did I buy more lipsticks? Yes, oops. I just can't resist mattes, and these budget friendly buys from Seventeen come in at only £4.49 each making them totally more justifiable. Matte lipsticks really are all the rage these days and it's no surprise, they're known for being more pigmented and longer lasting compared to other formulas which for me makes matte my lipstick formula of choice. The only downside is that they can be drying, meaning that although many brands try to master the formula, some just leave you needing more than just a ridiculously thick layer of lip balm.

Charlotte Tilbury Haul

On Thursday me and my family headed into London for a little city break. We've had a few nights away booked for a while now so I was glad the time finally came around as London is one of my favourite places and we were all in need of a little break. Besides the amount of shopping I intended on doing, the main reason for going was for Comic Con, an event full of all things comic/cartoon/super hero that my brother wanted to go to.

To attempt to justify it it's been a while since I went on a drugstore splurge and there was just so many pretty products that I couldn't say no to, and with the release of a few new Spring collections I was in my element swatching away for a lot longer than I should have been - I left with a rather colourful hand covered in swatches!

Besides chocolate, March was actually a rather spendy month for me makeup wise -let's be real most months I spend much more than I really should- but March has seen the addition of quite new items to my collection, I blame it on the release of Spring/Summer collections mixed with Easter offers, I'm weak. Enough rambling, these are the products I've loved throughout March.

My Favourite Apps For Editing Blog & Instagram Pictures

For me taking and editing pictures is the one thing I seem to spend the most time on when it comes to putting together a blog post, and the same goes for Instagram. What may appear to be a simple flatlay has had a lot more time, thought and effort put into it behind the scenes - I'm sure my fellow bloggers/Instgramers will agree! Whilst this post isn't exactly revolutionary to the blogging world and there's plenty floating around, everyone has their own ways of editing and it's something that I'm asked a lot about so today I thought I'd share a few of my favourite apps with you.

Beauty Haul: Birthday Edition

Hello blog, it's been a while (again). The day after my last post went up explaining why I'd been a bit absent in the blogging world recently, things took a turn for the worst pretty fast and I was taken back into hospital. To be honest a lot of that day is a blur to me, but what I do remember was being in the worst pain I've ever felt in my life (I'm not even exaggerating) and having seizure after seizure. When I finally fully "woke up" it was the following day and I'd been moved up to a ward. I was in for about a week after that seeing various different doctors and going through various different tests. Turns out it's the pressure in my brain again but it's a long complicated story on how they're going to treat it due to my other illnesses that I won't bore you all with!
